What are today’s Krillion hints

Today’s Krillion hints give you a way into each of the seven prompts in Dive #114 without handing you the answer: first a thinking angle, then the obvious answers to avoid, then rare ideas if you really want them.

Krillion is a game about rare answers. Every prompt accepts many correct answers, and the fewer players who type yours, the more it is worth. The hard part is not knowing an answer; it is knowing which answers everyone else will type. Our hints are built around that. Hint 1 points you to a less crowded corner of the category. Hint 2 shows the crowded corner. Hint 3 suggests specific uncommon answers.

How to play with Krillion hints

  1. Read all seven prompts below. You have 25 seconds per prompt in the game, so thinking ahead is the biggest advantage hints give you.
  2. Use the Angle line to brainstorm your own answer first. It will be more satisfying, and it may be rarer than ours.
  3. Open Hint 2 to check your idea is not one of the obvious picks.
  4. Only open Hint 3 if you are stuck. Then play the dive.

Krillion Dive #114 prompts and hints

  1. #1Name a fruit or vegetable that is red on the inside.

Angle: Think beyond the standard red produce; consider fruits and vegetables whose flesh (not skin) is red, including tropical or less-common varieties.

Watch the wording: Must be red on the inside—skin color alone doesn't count, and it must be a fruit or vegetable.

Hint 2: the obvious answers to avoid
    • tomato
    • watermelon
    • red pepper

Feels clever, but many players type it: beet, blood orange

Hint 3: rare answer ideas (spoiler)
    • red dragon fruit
    • red guava
    • prickly pear
    • Pink Pearl apple
  2. #2Name a setting you can change in a video game’s settings.

Angle: List specific in-game options menus players tweak; avoid generic terms like 'graphics' and name concrete sliders or toggles.

Watch the wording: Must be an actual changeable setting, not a whole menu category.

Hint 2: the obvious answers to avoid
    • volume
    • brightness
    • difficulty

Feels clever, but many players type it: subtitles

Hint 3: rare answer ideas (spoiler)
    • field of view
    • motion blur
    • invert Y-axis
    • vibration
  3. #3Name a country with "and" in its name

Angle: Scan world countries whose official names contain the word 'and'—often compound island nations or hyphenated official names.

Watch the wording: Safest reading is the word "and". Names that only contain the letters (Andorra, Rwanda, Iceland) may not be accepted, and territories such as Turks and Caicos are not countries.

Hint 2: the obvious answers to avoid
    • Trinidad and Tobago
    • Bosnia and Herzegovina

Feels clever, but many players type it: Antigua and Barbuda

Hint 3: rare answer ideas (spoiler)
    • Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
    • São Tomé and Príncipe
    • Saint Kitts and Nevis
    • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
  4. #4Name something players aim at to score in a sport (like a hoop).

Angle: Think of targets in less-mainstream sports—not just goals and hoops but specific objects struck or thrown at.

Watch the wording: Must be a physical target aimed at to score, not the scoring area boundary.

Hint 2: the obvious answers to avoid
    • goal
    • hoop
    • net

Feels clever, but many players type it: bullseye

Hint 3: rare answer ideas (spoiler)
    • wicket
    • jack
    • clay pigeon
    • pins
  5. #5Name a high-protein food ingredient—at least 8g of protein per 100g.

Angle: Pick foods with dense protein per 100g—seeds, legumes, cheeses, and meats—avoiding items just under the 8g threshold.

Watch the wording: Must meet 8g protein per 100g—check items like tofu that hover near the line.

Hint 2: the obvious answers to avoid
    • chicken
    • eggs
    • beef

Feels clever, but many players type it: tofu

Hint 3: rare answer ideas (spoiler)
    • lentils
    • hemp seeds
    • parmesan
    • tempeh
  6. #6Name a way a person can feel, emotionally or physically (one word only)

Angle: Choose single-word emotions or physical sensations that are specific and less commonly named, not broad states.

Watch the wording: One word only—no phrases like 'worn out' allowed.

Hint 2: the obvious answers to avoid
    • happy
    • sad
    • angry

Feels clever, but many players type it: anxious

Hint 3: rare answer ideas (spoiler)
    • nauseous
    • euphoric
    • dizzy
    • melancholy
  7. #7Name something people wear that is designed for protection (everyday clothing doesn’t count)

Angle: Focus on gear worn specifically for safety or shielding—helmets, guards, and protective accessories—not fashion.

Watch the wording: Everyday clothing excluded—must be designed for protection, not warmth or style.

Hint 2: the obvious answers to avoid
    • helmet
    • gloves
    • goggles

Feels clever, but many players type it: sunglasses

Hint 3: rare answer ideas (spoiler)
    • shin guards
    • earplugs
    • knee pads
    • mouthguard

Rare picks are our own suggestions for valid uncommon answers, generated with AI assistance and not taken from Krillion’s answer sheet, which is never published. Krillion scores them against its own lists, so a pick can still come back less rare than expected.

Krillion scoring: why these hints work

Krillion scores every valid answer by rarity. The developer builds answer sets from dictionaries, encyclopedias and other references, then rates how familiar each answer is, partly from how often a word or name appears in general writing and partly by hand. Obvious answers “float” and earn very little. Answers labelled “too clever” are the ones that feel obscure but are popular with clever players. Deep cuts score well, and the single hand-picked “Krillion” gem for each prompt is the jackpot.

Each point is 10 metres of depth and a perfect dive of 700 points reaches the trench floor, so every prompt is worth up to 100 points. A wrong answer or a timeout is zero. That is why the hints stress the prompt’s exact wording as much as rarity: a rare answer that breaks a rule is worth nothing.

Krillion hints vs the daily answer list

This page is designed for people who want to solve Krillion themselves with a nudge. If you would rather see suggested rare answers for every prompt straight away, use Krillion answers today. Both pages cover the same seven prompts and change at the same time. The hints keep the spoilers folded; the answer page shows them up front. Neither is Krillion’s official answer list, which the game does not publish.

Tips to score higher with today’s Krillion prompts

  1. Read every rule in the prompt. Today’s set includes limits such as word counts and category exclusions. Many lost points come from good answers that break the rule.
  2. Avoid the first three answers you think of. They are almost always in Hint 2.
  3. Prefer specific over general. A named variety, model or species is usually rarer than the family it belongs to, and still valid.
  4. Have a backup. If the game rejects your rare answer, you have no second try, so pick one you are sure is correct.
  5. Learn from yesterday. The links below keep every previous dive’s prompts and our picks.

FAQ

Are these the official Krillion answers?

No. Krillion never publishes its answer sheet. The prompts are the official ones for today; the angles and rare-answer ideas are our own suggestions, so they may score differently in the game.

When are Krillion hints updated?

Every day right after the Krillion daily resets at midnight US Eastern time. The countdown at the top shows when the next dive and the next set of hints arrive.

Will these hints spoil today’s Krillion?

Only if you want them to. The prompts and thinking angles are visible; the obvious answers and the rare answer ideas are hidden until you open them.

Why is my first idea usually wrong in Krillion?

Because it is everybody’s first idea. Krillion scores answers by rarity, so the first thing most players think of lands near the bottom of the scoring ladder.

What is a “too clever” answer in Krillion?

It is the go-to “obscure” pick that is not actually obscure, because a large share of players reach for it to be clever. Krillion flags these so you learn to dig one level deeper.

Can I see hints for past Krillion dives?

Yes. Every past day stays online as a dated page. Use the links at the bottom of this page or browse the Krillion archive.
